How to care for a waterproof raincoat made from recycled rPET
Partager
Whether you wear a raincoat to work, on walks or while travelling, take time afterwards to dry it, clean it when needed and store it dry.
Always begin with the care label for your particular model. Fabrics and finishes can require different care, so general advice does not replace the manufacturer’s instructions.
What is rPET?
rPET is recycled polyester. RainQueen raincoats use recycled rPET fabric. The material’s origin alone does not determine washing temperature or whether tumble drying is suitable.
Dry your raincoat after rain
Do not leave a wet coat in a closed bag or wardrobe for a long time. Hang it to dry if the care label allows. If you must pack it damp while travelling, take it out at the next opportunity. Ensure it is fully dry before longer-term storage.
Cleaning your raincoat
A small mark may only need local cleaning, if permitted by the instructions. Use a gentle method and avoid vigorous rubbing. Choose washing temperature, programme and products according to the label. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, tumble drying or ironing if prohibited. Ask for advice if the instructions are unclear.
Storing between seasons
Store your raincoat clean and dry according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Check fastenings and the material before wearing it again.
